TARGET is a podcast about what it means to be in the crosshairs of the federal government. Alex Little spent years inside the machine, federal prosecutor and CIA analyst, before crossing over to defend the people it hunts. Amy Nelson’s husband spent 4 years under federal investigation: raids, frozen accounts, front-page headlines. Never charged.

Alex Little

Former federal prosecutor and CIA analyst. Now defends the people the machine hunts.

Alex Little is the founding and managing partner of Litson PLLC in Nashville. He spent years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in 2 federal districts, leading national security and white-collar investigations and trying dozens of cases before federal juries. Before that, he was a CIA political analyst and worked with President Jimmy Carter at The Carter Center on peace negotiations in Sudan. He clerked for Judge Marsha S. Berzon on the Ninth Circuit and earned his law degree at Georgetown. Today he defends people and companies facing federal investigations, and he wanted a show about what that experience does to them.

Amy Nelson spent 10 years as a litigator in New York and Seattle before leaving law to build companies. She founded The Riveter in 2017. In 2020, the FBI came to her door, and her husband spent the next 4 years as the target of a federal investigation. Their savings were seized, they sold their house to pay lawyers, and he was never charged. She tells that story in her TEDx talk, “FBI Agents Do Not Ring the Doorbell.”
